Event Description

The final round of the 2008 Conehead Cup will be a fast giant slalom race at the Pump Station in the Blue Mountains.

The Pump Station is a special place, and we're only able to skate there because the locals have come to know us as friendly people who leave the place spotless and cause no offence. If one of the locals gets pissed off with us, it could mean the end of skating at Pump Station.

So I'd like to ask everybody to take extra care on the weekend to maintain our good reputation with the locals by looking after the place and generally being Low Impact and Low Profile.

In particular:

* Parking 1 - Please don't park in front of the boom gate. Fire trucks, lawn-mowing vans, and other people with keys to that gate occasionally need to get through.

* Parking 2 - Please don't park in people's driveways or in any way that makes it hard for residents. This may mean that you end up parking a couple of hundred metres away, but so be it.

* Rubbish - Please take it all away with you when you leave.

Although the gods frowned upon us with rain, the heavens finally opened up to give the chance for a showdown!

BIG thanks to ASRA and everyone involved over the year to get these races happenin, its so much fun skating and hanging out with everyone and all those who put in lots of effort to make this possible is a champion.
ASRA is really achieving something special here and im so stoaked to be a part of it. Thanks to Hop for being an awsome sponsor and supporter of skateboard racing in Oz, without him we wouldnt be where we are today. your a legend buddy!

ASRA Admin Comment by Bugs on October 31, 2008 at 10:59: In the highly unlikely event of rain washing out the Pump Station we will attempt to have a race at the Springwood car park. This race will be considered part of the 2008 Conehead Cup, and so points will be there to be won.

If racing is unable to occur at the car park because of water or a bust or any other Act of Dog, then there will be no final race of the 2008 Conehead Cup and the points tally will remain as it is now. It is still "best 4 out of 5 results count".

But it won't rain. From the BOM:

You heard it from me the weather will be 24 degrees with long periods of sunshine and a howling 50 knot tailwind that will arrive just after qualifying.
