Event Description

Note: The Event results are here!

It's a long wait between Race 1 and Race 2, but this should make up for it. We're looking at a fast single-lane hybrid-slalom jam session, and the location is spectacular. A gently winding road from the headland at Long Reef down to the car park, with the ocean on one side and a golf course on the other.

This will be Saturday night racing under lights, by the sea-shore!

For those unable to check out the venue in advance, bring your softer wheels as the road surface is not hot-mix. But don't worry - it's perfectly consistent and has good grip.

On a cloudy day it looks like this:

I might turn up early and have a look about, Only been on a board a few months and wouldn't mind just giving this a go!

I know, you only ride for the stoke, but I just collected all the schwag and put it in a pile, and some lucky folks are gonna be going home with it - trucks (Skandals and Trackers), wheels (Seismic and Loaded), a Pavel slalom deck, and more. There will be prizes in each division:

* A
* B
* Under 18s
* Womens

There will also be about 10 loaner boards available for people to try on the night.

There will be two courses - they've both been set and are ready to go.

A course
36 cones, with the tighest sections at 7.5' centre-to-centre, and a variety of wider spaced offsets. It's fast! Anybody who's competed in any of the slalom races over the last 2 years should have no difficulty running this course.

B course
25 cones, with the tightest sections at 10' centre-to-centre, and some looser offsets. For longboards and slalom newbies.

The weather forecast is sunny and 25 deg for Saturday. It's on!

Cool if the B division course come off. I'm happy to try the A course just worried about the amount of work to reset 20 or 30 cones after my run!

Latest news:

* If setup time allows there will be two separate courses; an A course (faster, and with cones more closely spaced) and a B course (slower and more space between the cones).

* Due to council regulations, this is a "no-alcohol" event. (But there will be an after-party...)
